Great book with a great story line. Two people meet in a bar and start a torrid love affair. At least it was supposed to be an “affair”. However they fall hard for each other, thank goodness. One is a NY businessman, apparently independently wealthy who gives money away. This is the only part of the book that I find lacking and why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. We know nothing more about January, nothing!! No more background, nothing much about family whom we never meet. However we meet every person who ever had something to do in the Cowboy’s life! It just seemed a bit one-sided to me. BUT, the Cowboy’s life is sooo interesting and the readers as well as the businessman can’t help but be enveloped into the life and story of the Cowboy. However the cowboy has a secret, he’s going blind.I loved reading about the life of a bull rider, Hawk and it made me want to go see it for myself. A man who is used to pulling everything together himself and only a few know his secret. January enters this life and decides he’s going all the way and it’s up to Hawk to let him. You have to read the book to see what happens but another great read from these two fabulous writers. And if you’ve read any of their other collaborations, you’ll see others we have read about sprinkled in too!
