In my opinion, this book is more informative than practical. The author does a good job of describing adolescent brain science in simple terms...often with illustrations and humor. Much of the other information is stuff that I already knew. The most interesting information to me was research on how social media effects teen brains. Information on mindfulness is also something I found interesting.As for as being practical for educators, basically the message was "be a high-expectations teacher with warm responsiveness." As for suggestions in general: have parenting classes at school and have a certified staff member teach it, encourage kids to be involved in sports, make the gym the centerpiece of the school, start school at 8:30, and start a mindfulness class at school.
